A recent award confirms what VW drivers already know to be true: When it comes to bold styling and premium performance, Volkswagen reigns supreme. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz received two impressive accolades at the annual What Car? Awards, named “Large Electric Car of the Year” and overall “Car of the Year.”

These “Car of the Year” awards put the market’s best cars on a pedestal, relying on thorough assessments from a reputable panel of editors – over 12 months of rigorous testing!

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz was the clear favorite, praised for combining modern innovation with a taste of nostalgia. The iconic Volkswagen Microbus was the inspiration for the ID Buzz, with its classic paint colors remaining on the palette as a nod to the past.

Higher gas prices and concerns over carbon emissions have encouraged many drivers to go all-electric. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz presents the perfect solution, allowing drivers to reduce their environmental impact while enhancing their experience behind the wheel.

Our team at Mike Reichenbach Volkswagen of Florence is here to help you find the perfect new VW – and to share what we know about this all-electric car! Read on to learn more.

What are the Key Features of the VW ID. Buzz?

Reminiscent of the VW bus it’s modeled after, the ID. Buzz will feature two-tone paint color options. LED lights and a sleeker silhouette add a more futuristic flair, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds!

Different Models

VW has revealed the short wheelbase and commercial wheelbase versions in Europe, with only extended wheelbase models available to American drivers. This long wheelbase version, with roomy seating for up to seven, is more focused on comfort and luxury than its more power-packed sibling.

Electric Powertrain

Constructed on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform, like the Volkswagen ID.4 compact SUV, the ID. Buzz’s base model features a single, rear-mounted electric motor. 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque come standard, with the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration boosting horsepower to 295.

While still unconfirmed, the 2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is expected to have a battery pack with a capacity of up to 111 kWh. Range will likely vary between 260 and 300 miles on a single charge. To make powering up even more convenient, Volkswagen claims the ID. Buzz can charge from 5% to 80% in just 30 minutes at a DC fast charging station.

Eco-Friendly Design

The 2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is part of VW’s vision for a fuel-free future, boasting a carbon neutral footprint. This electric vehicle’s interior uses recycled materials and is free of leather. The center console is removable, so the cabin can be transformed to fit your unique – and ever adapting! – needs.

Intuitive Infotainment

Similar to the ID. 4’s cockpit, the ID. Buzz features a 10-inch gauge cluster, 10-inch centrally positioned infotainment system, and heads-up display. You’ll enjoy convenient, over-the-air software updates, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and more.
