2023 Volkswagen Atlas 

With three rows of roomy seating, the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas SUV accommodates seven. Three-zone climate control, heated front seats, and more upscale comfort features ensure a comfortable ride for every member of your crew! Plus, you’ll enjoy up to 154 cubic feet of passenger space and 96.8 cubic feet of cargo space with rear seats folded.

2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport 

The two-row Atlas Cross Sport seats five, with dual-zone climate control and heated front seats. As mentioned above, the Atlas Cross Sport comes in behind its big sibling in terms of interior space, offering a still impressive 112 cubic feet of passenger space and up to 77.8 cubic feet of cargo space with rear seats folded. 

Performance and Handling 

Thanks to its more compact size, the sportier Atlas Cross Sport is slightly easier to maneuver – although both models drive like a dream. They come standard with front-wheel drive, with optional 4MOTION® all-wheel drive (AWD) on higher level trims for both models. 

Both the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport come standard with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic shifting. Hop behind the wheel to harness 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque! Or upgrade to the 276-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine option to pack even more of a punch. Again, the 2023 Atlas Cross Sport’s smaller size works to its advantage, earning slightly better fuel economy.

The latest model year Atlas gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while the Atlas Cross Sport gets 21 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

Safety Features and Infotainment System

Both Volkswagen SUVs come standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, providing easy access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, advanced navigation, and more.

For the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster now comes standard on SE trims and higher, but is exclusively available on the Atlas Cross Sport’s upper trims. 

Volkswagen equips all 2023 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sports with automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and standard blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross-traffic alert. 

The Atlas SEL and Atlas Cross Sport SEL are equipped with a panoramic sunroof, VW Digital Cockpit Pro, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist.
