Spacious, stunning, and full of high-tech features, the all-electric 2025 Volkswagen ID.4 offers impressive range and performance.

The 2024 ID.4 received several upgrades, including a new infotainment system, updated software, and powertrain improvements that provided even better performance. With those upgrades still fresh, we expect minimal changes for the 2025 model.

Let’s take a look at what we know about the new ID.4 and what we think we can expect!

What We Know So Far About the 2025 VW ID.4

The 2025 VW ID.4 will be available in five trims:

  • Standard
  • Standard S
  • Pro
  • Pro S
  • Pro S Plus

Like its predecessors, the 2025 Volkswagen ID.4 has two rows of seating with room for up to five. There are 30.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, but you can fold those seats down for a total of 64.2 cubic feet.

New for 2025, all models will be outfitted with a 12.9-inch touchscreen with backlit sliders. A 5.3-inch driver display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is also standard.

Comfort reigns supreme, with cloth upholstery and heated front seats. Opt for the Pro S trims and you’ll get faux-leather upholstery and 12-way power adjustable front seats. Adjustable ambient lighting and a spacious and uncluttered interior help to create a little zen on every drive.

If you choose an S or S Plus model, you can add the Black Package. This takes style to the next level with black mirror caps, door handles, badging, and 20-inch black aluminum wheels.

When it comes to safety, the 2025 ID.4 comes with a suite of driver assistance systems, including Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE. These safety and driver assistance technologies provide peace of mind with adaptive cruise control, active blind spot monitor, rear traffic alert, and more.

Battery, Range, and Performance

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV offers three battery configurations, each of which provide range, performance, and versatility.

Entry-level ID.4 models use a 62-kWh battery pack with a single rear motor, which produces 201 horsepower and 229 lb.-ft. of torque. This powertrain offers an EPA-estimated 200 miles of driving range.

The ID.4 is also available with an 82-kWh battery and standard rear motor, which provide 282 horsepower and 402 lb.-ft. The larger battery and RWD provide about 290 miles of driving range.

The 82-kWh battery is also available with dual-motor AWD. This powertrain delivers 335 horsepower and approximately 260 miles of range. It’s also equipped with regenerative braking, which helps recapture energy when you slow down.
