What You Should Know About the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas

Volkswagen’s largest SUV, the Atlas, received a makeover for 2024, setting the bar higher for the competition. Due to the refresh we saw in 2024, there are minimal changes for model year 2025. This year’s model retains its newly improved engine, upgraded exterior, and more upscale cabin features. Notable updates include three new exterior paint colors: Mountain Lake Blue, Avocado Green, and Pure Grey (previously only available on the Peak Edition trim).

New Features Across the 2025 VW Atlas Lineup

The 2025 Volkswagen Atlas offers a spacious three-row layout with room for up to seven. There’s also generous cargo space, with 20.6 cubic feet behind the third row and a whopping 96.8 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.

 It’s available in five trims, ensuring there’s a model for every lifestyle:

• VW Atlas SE
• VW Atlas SE w/ Technology
• VW Atlas Peak Edition
• VW Atlas SEL
• VW Atlas SEL Premium R-Line

The exterior of the 2025 Atlas features a wide chrome four-bar grille with LED headlights. An Adaptive Front-lighting System comes standard. This feature automatically adjusts your headlights in poor lighting conditions so you can rest assured your visibility is the best it can be.

Overhead roof rails are also standard. They’re black on the SE, SE with Technology, and Peak Edition models and silver on SEL models and above. The Peak Edition models and above are also outfitted with a large panoramic sunroof with a two-part glass opening system and powered sunshade.

The new Atlas is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions with a 2.0-liter turbo powertrain that delivers 269 horsepower.

If you’re an adventure seeker, you’ll definitely want to check out the Atlas Peak Edition model. It’s outfitted with a rugged front fascia, 18-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and a silver-clad underbody. All of these features make it perfect for taking off the beaten path! 

When it comes to safety, every new Volkswagen is equipped with the IQ.DRIVE® driver assistance technology suite. This system includes adaptive cruise control and front assist systems with auditory collision warnings and automatic braking to provide peace of mind on every journey. 

The interior of the Atlas is thoughtfully crafted with premium materials. One of the most notable updates for 2025 are the new high-end design and comfort features including headrest perforation and front seat four-way lumbar support and massage function on the Atlas SEL Premium R-Line trim.
