Futuristic Exterior Style

On the outside, the 2026 Volkswagen ID.4 makes a bold, confident impression, standing out with design details like defined lines, a large roof spoiler, and a sculpted front bumper featuring large, gloss black intake-like scoops and diamond accents that serve to funnel air around the vehicle. 

The exterior is punctuated by sharp LED headlights, which feature an LED strip at the top, and LED taillights. Available lighting features like premium LED projector headlights, an illuminated light line, and an illuminated Volkswagen logo lead the way in the front, while in the rear, an available illuminated logo provides the perfect finishing touch. Not only that, standard illuminated door handles enhance the ID.4 SUV’s exterior design even more.

Wheel designs like 19-inch machined alloy wheels with all season tires, 20-inch dynamic two-tone machined alloy wheels with all season tires, 20-inch five-spoke two-tone alloy wheels with all season tires, and 21-inch two-tone diamond-turned alloy wheels with all season tires further complement the ID.4’s design.

Powerful All-Electric Performance

Behind the wheel of the 2026 Volkswagen ID.4, you can cruise the highway, explore backroads, and drive through the city and beyond with confidence, because this electric SUV provides the range you need to get you to your destination on time.

Range varies by trim level. The Pro and Pro S, both rear-wheel drive models, boast the best range out of the lineup: an EPA-estimated range of 291 miles.¹ The all-wheel drive models provide plenty of range, too: an EPA-estimated 263 miles.¹

When it comes to power, though, the AWD models win, producing 335 horsepower. But power is still impressive in rear-wheel drive models, which deliver a decent 282 horsepower. 

Driving Mode Selection is a feature that lets you tailor performance whenever you want to switch things up. The standard modes are Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Custom, while AWD models add the Traction mode. Eco supports efficient performance, Comfort, as the name suggests, enhances driving comfort, Sport makes the steering and throttle more responsive, Custom finds the balance between Comfort and Sport modes, and Traction is designed for loose or slippery surfaces.

Charging Your ID.4

When it comes to charging your ID.4, you’ve got options. You can either charge your EV at home or far from home, thanks to thousands of public charging stations located across the U.S. And with a North American Charging System (NACS) DC adapter⁠, you can take advantage of the Tesla Supercharger network⁠, making charging your ID.4 even more convenient.

For seamless charging at home, you can use the 2-in-1 EV Charge Cable that comes with your ID.4 to plug into a standard 120v household outlet — or you can speed things up and plug into a 240v outlet. Either way, it’s easy!

A Comfortable & Versatile Cabin

The ID.4 makes it easy to settle in. Offering heated front seats right off the bat, as well as Climatronic® dual-zone automatic climate control, this electric SUV ensures that comfort comes first.

Seating material varies, based on the trim level, but the lineup offers either cloth seating surfaces with leatherette bolsters or V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces. A 60/40 split fold-flat rear bench seat lets you create more space for cargo when needed, making the ID.4 even more versatile. 

Comfort gets an upgrade in higher trim levels with features like ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and even heated, 12-way power with 4-way lumbar support front seats that include massage and memory functions. The top trim level adds heated second-row outboard seats and Climatronic® Touch three-zone automatic climate control.

Special touches include standard adjustable ambient lighting — 10 colors for lower trim levels and 30 colors for higher trim levels — and an available panoramic fixed glass roof, creating an even more inviting cabin.

The ID.4 is also equipped with sleek technology, starting with standard features like 12.9-inch touchscreen navigation and wireless charging. Available enhancements include a Harman Kardon® premium audio system with a center speaker and a subwoofer, providing a next-level listening experience.
