The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 Earns Top Safety Pick Award from IIHS

The electric Volkswagen ID.4 recently earned a TOP SAFETY PICK award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The IIHS scale includes four levels: Good, Acceptable, Marginal, and Poor. To qualify for the 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK award, vehicles need good ratings in the small overlap front, original moderate overlap front, and updated side test. Their headlights across all trim levels should earn acceptable or good ratings.

The ID.4 earned good ratings on everything except front crash prevention: pedestrian, where it was given an acceptable rating. The headlights earned acceptable or good ratings, depending on the trim level. 

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration( NHTSA) also conducted comprehensive testing of its own and gave the ID.4 a five-star overall rating, including five stars in the frontal crash category and five stars for side crash testing.

Volkswagen ID.4 is a five-seat electric SUV. In addition to its fantastic safety ratings, families love the spacious interior and standard driver-assist and safety features. It’s available in three trim levels—Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus—for every driver. 

You have the option of 62 kWh or 82 kWh batteries and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive models can travel up to 291 miles on a single charge, while all-wheel drive models offer a respectable 263-mile range.
